Charlotte Lauwers

Photographer

Charlotte is a graphic designer and photographer. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design at Luca School of Arts in Brussels. Apart from produ- cing stunning photographs (events/personal) she also composes installations that take you on an intellectually poignant journey.
In the photos on display she stresses the reciprocal relationship between primordial elements. In an abstract way she zooms in on nature as a continuous process of constructing and dissolving and subsequently reconnecting. By capturing this eternal process she brings the different layers marked by time to life. What we see and how things are constructed depends on the different quantities of the elements (fire, water, air and earth). The ingenuity of her work lies in the fact that she represents nature as a selective recreation of reality concretized by her view of our existence.
