Spatial Mindscapes #1

Yiannis Pappas

Since Yiannis concretizes what is not there because it has either been or could become, his work can easily be misunderstood as nihilistic visualization. Essentially the serie, akin to reductionist and formalistic doctrines, portrays a phenomenological shift of subjectivity through an objective awareness of reality. It visually shows that meaninglessness, the presence of absence, grows out of dynamic interactions, the different lines delineated by the licht yellow planes, with a group of people on the one hand and that the lack of meaning, which is not or is invisible, is dialectically linked to the ever-developing, black and white surfaces understood as a connecting coherence, living space man. This is a pure aesthetic experience that implicitly refers to the formal purity of Mondrian and the geometric games of Malevich. Acryl on canvas/ 40x50cm
